This premier event brought together over 5,000 stakeholders across the hydrogen value chain, including industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators, to accelerate the hydrogen economy.
Key themes at the conference included hydrogen transportation and storage solutions, women in hydrogen leadership, engineering advancements in hydrogen infrastructure, and strategic partnerships in hydrogen projects. Insights gained highlighted the need for efficient, low-pressure hydrogen storage systems, such as those utilizing metal hydride technology, and underscored the importance of strategic collaborations to advance hydrogen infrastructure.

The “Women in Hydrogen Program” emphasized the role of gender diversity in the hydrogen industry. Notable quotes included Boyana Achovski, Secretary General of GIE, stating, “Achieving gender diversity in energy is not just a goal but a necessity for a sustainable future,” and Nevin Alija, Founder of Mujeres en Energía Portugal, asserting, “We must leverage every opportunity to educate and raise awareness about the Green Deal and the path to climate neutrality.”
During the event, Project Manager Ana Marcos de los Ríos established valuable connections with key industry players and potential partners, including representatives from Exolum, Bloom Energy, FIBA Technologies Inc., and engineering firms such as GKN Hydrogen, PRF Gas Solutions, AFRY, INGERENO, and WOOD.
The conference also presented opportunities to incorporate advanced storage technologies to improve safety and efficiency within the H2Heat project. Additionally, it highlighted the challenge of coordinating with multiple stakeholders to streamline project implementation and the opportunity to foster greater gender diversity in the hydrogen sector.
Overall, CGHE2024 provided invaluable insights and opportunities for advancing the H2Heat project, aligning with its goals to promote inclusive leadership and integrate cutting-edge hydrogen technologies.
