This event focused on the development of offshore wind energy in the Canary Islands, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss challenges, opportunities, and engineering aspects of industrial development.

A significant highlight of the event was the presentation of the H2Heat project by José Joaquín Hernández Brito, CEO of the Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN). H2Heat aims to integrate offshore wind energy with green hydrogen production to provide sustainable heating solutions in Gran Canaria.

The event also featured insights from Navantia Seanergies and GHENOVA, who discussed the challenges and opportunities for offshore wind energy in the region. A roundtable included prominent figures such as Nicolás Quintana, President of Atiren-Connavalte; Ángel Fernández Rodríguez, Competitive Strategy and Commercial Manager at Navantia Seanergies; Raúl Rodríguez, Director of Offshore Renewables at GHENOVA; Pedro Suárez López de Vergara, President of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife; and Germán Carlos Suárez Calvo, President of CMC and ASTICAN.
Additionally, Gustavo González de Vega, Vice Minister of Economy and Internationalization of the Government of the Canary Islands, shared details about the upcoming WindEurope Bilbao 2024 event, emphasizing the importance of strengthening alliances and defining strategies to increase the visibility of the Canarian business sector in this prominent international forum.
The III Desayunos Renovables served as a platform for advancing discussions on renewable energy in the Canary Islands, highlighting the region’s potential in offshore wind and green hydrogen initiatives like H2Heat.
