ESTEYCO has built the first 5MW prototype with no need for big and scarce vessels, thus contributing significantly to lowering the cost of wind energy in the marine environment as well as the carbon footprint. Currently, this prototype is in operation in PLOCAN’s test area. Recently, Esteyco’s WHEEL prototype has been funded by the European Commision including the design, certification, validation, construction, installation and put in operation of a 6MW floating prototype in the Canary Islands.
